The Meffans is surprisingly unassuming from the outside, given its unofficial status as a hub of the art scene, as well as its devotion to local history. It often holds exciting exhibitions and if you're part of the scene its pretty common to run into artists and teachers you know, whether visiting or exhibiting themselves.
A small local museum with some permanent displays, themes and a gallery where works by the artist Jim Dunbar were on show. The staff were friendly and helpful, recommended.
